Okay, so, a few months back Draven (me) decided it was darned time he set up the security system on his wireless system. So he did it, got it locked down tight, and all that fun stuff.
Well, about a week later his dads computer could not connect properly to the internet, and the only way Draven could fix the bloody thing was by resetting the wireless router. But in doing this, the security settings were all wiped. And Draven realized that every single time he needed to fix the internet connection for his dad, he would have to reset the wireless router, so he did not think it worth his time putting the security back on and everything because he would have to do it a lot...
But now things are different, Draven has some questionable people living across the street from him, and he is mighty suspicious and protective, especially since he now has a nice new computer...so he is wondering, which is the best for wireless security:
WPA Personal
WPA Enterprise
WPA2 Personal
WPA2 Enterprise
Radius
or WEP
If anyone has their personal opinion, please tell Draven. _________________ "The hardest thing about a zombie apocalypse would be tying to pretend its not cool" |

ADVISORY:
An Apple wireless router, even an old one, won't lose it's security settings if you reset it.
Unless you're doing a hard-reset or something.
Consider replacing or repairing the hardware.
Also, install additional firewalls, preferably a hardware firewall.
I will research different types of security and post an an answer later. _________________ Through the mosses bare

Firewalls indeed.
And keep a close eye on your computer. Check it's files everyday for something new or suspicious. If you suspect anything, get rid of it right away.
A hardware firewall is a great idea, Tanshin. I HAD a firewall on my new computer. But then it got some sort of bug and nothing works the way it should... *sigh* _________________ LET'S PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE! |
